Beautiful Bump
Benefits of Pregnancy Massage
More and more expectant mothers are discovering the benefits of pregnancy massage.
While you are pregnant your body undergoes numerous changes physically as well as physiologically. The physical changes can cause stress and discomfort. Massage is a wonderful way to help alleviate many of these discomforts, as well as promotes a sense of well-being.
Massage is beneficial throughout pregnancy; however, there maybe certain conditions that may or may not be related to your pregnancy that would prevent you from having massage, massage has never been associated with an increased risk of miscarriage
We offer a full body massage which lasts for up to 60 minutes, you will be supported by pillows and the treatment is carried out with you in a side lying position, which is an extremely comfortable position to be massaged in. You will be draped by towels and only the part of your body being worked on will be exposed.
The massage covers your scalp, face, neck, shoulders, arms, hands, back, legs and feet. You also have the option of having your bump massaged should you so wish.
Although we offer a fully body massage treatment the choice is always yours, there may be parts of your body that you don’t want massaged so we would concentrate the massage on where you do need.
You can have massage from your second trimester right up to your due date and even beyond. I do however require written confirmation from your midwife that she is happy for you to receive massage.
Pregnancy massage once a month will help to ease aches and pains and to help you relax. As you come towards the end of your pregnancy more frequent massage may help to relieve discomfort. How often is entirely up to you.
